Description:
Seismic upgrade of existing unreinforced masonry buildings according to the current FEMA standards.

The buildings were built in 1950s by the Russian Army.  They were constructed using low quality clay block walls and hollowcore concrete plank floors. They are currently leased to the US Army for their communication and medical operation facility.

Many regions in Romania are considered seismically active. This project is a partnership with structural firm Schmidt + Thielmann of Wiesbaden, Germany.
