Seismic evaluation of existing unreinforced masonry buildings according to the current FEMA standards. The buildings were built in 1950s and are occupied by the US Army for operation and medical facilities. This project is a partnership with structural firm Schmidt + Thielmann in Wiesbaden, Germany. Unreinforced clay masonry, wood framing and hollowcore concrete.

Seismic evaluation and upgrade of existing condominium units. There were approximately 200 units that were identified to be structurally inadequate in resisting design level forces. Conventional wood framing.

Seismic design of operational facilities including dining hall, barrack, office and medical building. The project site is located in one of the most seismically active region in the world, where ground shaking occurs approximately once a month. This project is a partnership with structural firm Schmidt + Thielmann in Wiesbaden, Germany. Concrete and masonry wall infill.
